\u201cHe does this to people. Junior Marines. Civilians. Anybody he thinks won\u2019t push back.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bull stepped toward him.<\/p>\n
One MP immediately moved between them.<\/p>\n
\u201cStay where you are, Gunnery Sergeant.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bull stopped.<\/p>\n
The corporal\u2019s voice shook.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo months ago he shoved Lance Corporal Jennings into a locker after Jennings questioned a training roster. Last month he made Private First Class Mason stand outside the company office for hours because he laughed when Gunny mispronounced his name.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cole asked, \u201cWere these reported?\u201d<\/p>\n
The corporal looked down.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, sir.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNothing happened.\u201d<\/p>\n
That was the twist.<\/p>\n
Admiral Cole was not shocked.<\/p>\n
He looked tired.<\/p>\n

Pete raised one hand.<\/p>\n
