Two security officers appeared at the door.<\/p>\n
\u201cStand by,\u201d I told them.<\/p>\n
Shaw stared at me. \u201cTell them the truth. You hate me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI remember what your decisions cost,\u201d I said. \u201cThat is why I disclosed our history before you entered this room.\u201d<\/p>\n
Army counsel stepped forward and explained that the archival recovery had been initiated by a veteran\u2019s medical request, not by me. The current command investigation had begun months before the board. Every member would score independently, and I had removed myself from any disciplinary review of the 2004 records.<\/p>\n
