He looked down at his coffee.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve spent my whole life being told I was the successful one and you were the family problem.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou didn\u2019t create that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNo. But I repeated it sometimes.\u201d<\/p>\n
That was true. He had laughed at jokes. He had never asked why I left at eighteen with one duffel bag.<\/p>\n
