The assembly continued without us. Admiral Keene stayed with the program; nobody needed a thousand spectators for what happened next.<\/p>\n Maya asked if I wanted her to play the recording.<\/p>\n I nodded.<\/p>\n The first clip began during my presentation. Trent held my photograph above his head. Mr. Nolan told me to choose something I could support. Instead, you let his classmates treat him like a liar.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI should have verified it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou should have stopped them humiliating him while you did.\u201d<\/p>\n Ms. Grant set aside the original report. She requested copies of the recordings, checked the nurse\u2019s account, and explained that my suspension would not proceed while the evidence was reviewed.<\/p>\n Mom asked what would keep the same thing from happening tomorrow.<\/p>\n That question took longer to answer.<\/p>\n There were separate interviews, calls to parents, and a written plan for reporting any further harassment. The school later corrected the account that blamed me for starting the confrontation. Trent faced consequences the administration discussed with his family.
